SUMMARY
After 3 winning weeks we drop the last week of the season 6-9 against Coach's #1...they have been the only team this half that beat us both weeks...and it appears we are on a collision course to meet them in the 2nd round of the playoffs...so we have to figure out what we need to do to beat them...our main issue seems to be consistency...plus we have to learn how to hit what we are aiming at...especially when it comes to set shots...when we have to hit a single 13 to get to a good out we should be able to hit it...we actually had decent stats this week...we had a 51.33 team average...and a 1.97 team cricket average...but somehow we still wind up losing cricket every week...we had 11 team tons...2 missed ins and 12 missed outs...seems like we should have done better than our score indicated...
THE LOW LIGHTS
"dolla bills" were fairly low again this week with only 13 total fines...The winner of this week's prestigious "Skippy Award" is Ed...this week Ed had 3 total fines (1 under 20, 1 C-rule and 1 missed out)...Johnny (2 under 20's), Andy (2 under 20's), Ted (1 C-rule and 1 missed out) and Matt (1 under 20 and 1 missed out) all had 2 in fines...Jr (1 under 20) and Jeff (1 under 20) had 1 fine each...Nothing like waiting till the 2nd to the last shot of the half to get my first under 20...I stink...
this week we hit our goal of a 50 team average with a 51.33 team average...Ted (40.10) and Andy (42.28) were the only shooters with lower than a 45 average...
as team we shot 34.11% of our shots under a 40...if we look deeper under the covers once again we see that these culprits had more than 30% of their shots under a 40...Matt had 58.33% of his shots under a 40...Ted had 52.63% of his shots under a 40....Andy had 46.15% of his shots under a 40....and Johnny had 35.00% of his shots under a 40...that's way too many names on this list...I mean if Ed and Jr aren't on this list than anything is possible....and the following shooters had at least 1 game average under a 40...the following are their low game average of the night...Johnny (18.33), Ted (23.00), Matt (29.67), Andy (33.60), Jr (35.67), Ed (37.50)....too many names on these lists...
For the 6th week in a row we have scores in the single digits...Johnny shot a 5 and Matt shot a 4....but in their defense they were both under 100 and "I guess" trying to hit a set shot??? Either way hit a fatty of what you are aiming at and these "poor" shots won't affect your average...haha...
this week we only had 2 missed ins...that's really good and really should have translated into more wins...but more on that later...Jr and Jeff had 1 missed in each...Ed was 3-3 at the ins...Johnny and Ted were 1-1 at the ins...Andy and Matt didn't even get a shot at the ins...
The following shooters shot less than a 2.0 average in cricket...Ed (1.00), Andy (1.50), Matt (1.57) and Jr (1.78)...a lot of names on that list for being the 20th week of the season...remember when we used to be good in cricket??? Either do I....we are most likely going to need to win 2 cricket games in the playoffs...any suggestions for a 2nd team that can win???
Ed had 3 0-mark cricket rounds...Jr, Andy and Matt had 1 0-mark cricket round each...
Ted had a 0.00% win rate....that sucks....pick up the pace...Ed had a 16.67% win rate....that sucks too....Matt had a 20.00% win rate....that's not much better....Jr had a 28.57% win rate....you see where this is going...we need people to step up and start "duh winning"....
THE HIGH LIGHTS
this week we had a 51.33 team average...Jeff led the way with a 65.89 team average...Ed (55.77), Matt (51.10) and Johnny (50.16) round out the over 50 club...Jr (49.76) rounds out the over 45 club...
let's look "over the covers" again this week...i think it's important to recognize the people that average over a 40 every game...and those shooters that shoot better than 70% of their shots over a 40...Jeff (86.36% or 3 shots) had the best % of shots over a 40....Jr was right behind him with (81.82% or 4 shots)....Ed (73.68% or 5 shots) also shot more than 70% of his shots over a 40...the following shooters averaged over a 40 each game....the following is their low game average...Jeff (42.00)...
this week we had 11 team tons...Jeff led the way with 4 tons...Johnny had 3 tons...Ed, Jr, Andy and Matt had 1 ton each...Ted wasn't "in the mood" to chuck any triple digit score...
Matt had the high score of the night with a 165 (trip 19, trip 19, trip 17)...very nice....Ed shot a 146 in...Johnny shot a 133...Jeff shot a patented 112 in....that's a lot of points....how does that not translate into more wins...
Ed went 3-3 at the ins...Jeff went 3-4 at the ins...Johnny and Ted were both 1-1 at the ins...Jr was 0-1 at the ins...Andy and Matt didn't even have a shot at the ins...great job at the ins this week....let's be this consistent in the playoffs....
Johnny had 2 double outs this week...Jr, Andy and Jeff had 1 double out each...and Ed, Ted and Matt just couldn't seem to find the double ring for an out...
Jeff (3.20) had the high cricket average of the night...Johnny had a 2.80 average to round out the over 2.0 club....

CONCLUSION
not the way we wanted to end the season...we lost the night 6-9....but that was good enough to keep us in 2nd place which will give us a bye next week....and probably another chance for redemption against Coach's #1...can't preach this enough but we need more consistency...each week people do something good but forget about the other parts of the game...next week we will practice during the bye week at my house....let's dig down deep and come into the playoffs with only 1 thing in mind....and that is winning 2 weeks in a row...
