Darts 2011/2012 - 2nd Half - Semi-Finals - Currans (away)

SUMMARY

So it's the semi-finals...we come in as a big underdog as the 5th seeded team playing against the #1 seed Currans...we play our best when we are loose and don't expect too much...and that's exactly how we played...we had fun and we played very consistent darts for the most part...let's break down the night real quick...we lose the first game...but we come back and are tied after 801....we lose the first game of cricket...so we are sitting at 2-3...we sweep the first 5 games of 501 and we also win the second cricket game...we are sitting at 7-3 with 5 games left...seems easy enough...win 1 game out of 5...but as things always seem to work out...we get swept in the next 4 games of 501...now we are sitting at 7-7 with the last game of cricket left...Jr starts with a 4 banger...Andy follows up with a squat...but then they both settled in and Andy steps to the line and hits 3 corks to win the game and the night...now all that remains to be said is "We are going to the Show!!!"....so the way things line up is that we will be playing Nick's Roast Beef away...we have a 500 average against them...but one thing of particular notice was that they beat us 3-0 in cricket the last week of the season...we will definitely have to change that in order to have a chance of pulling out the surprise upset in division 4...Let's go into next week the same as the last two weeks...as relaxed underdogs and just play our game and see how things go...

CONCLUSION

who would have thunk it...the boys rallied tonight and provided a stunning upset beating the #1 seeded Currans...we were up 7-3 at one point but Currans never went away and went on a 4 game winning streak...leaving it once again to Jr and Andy to pull a rabbit out of their hat in cricket...Jr started with a 4mark round ...Andy followed it up with a squat shot...who can honestly think it wasn't over at that point?  But wait...two rounds later Jr chucks a 4 mark and Andy follows it up with a 7-mark rounds...now we're back in business....game is very close...Andy steps to the board and nails 3 corks to win the night...all I can say is keep the magic going for one more week...I think we like being the underdogs...we seem to take the pressure off ourselves and are more relaxed and just do our thing...

Next week we play Nick's Roast Beef away...once again we come in as the underdogs...let's just go in and do what we've been doing the last two weeks and see how things shake out...
