SUMMARY
a new season is upon us...essentially the same cast of characters except we added a "new guy"...I guess we'll call him Matt...we start this half in division 5 up one division from our championship winning division 6...we have a lot of weeks in front of us so sit back and enjoy the ride...tonight we played Little Lit...first time we ever encountered this team...right away I could tell that their board was off...it seemed very close or low or both...as we will see later that didn't pan out very well for us...
THE LOW LIGHTS
all I can say is holy crap...talk about padding the kitty early in the season..."dolla bills" were at an unprecedented 30 this week...but this investigative reporter looked at last year and saw that the first week of the year we posted 31 in fines...and that was when the "Teddy" was born...that's right Teddy owed 10 in fines the first week of last year....let's look at a quick comparison of last year to this year...last year numbers are first with this years numbers second...Under 20's (8 / 7)...C-rules (3 / 5)...Missed Ins (15 / 15)...Missed Outs (0 / 0)...Squat in cricket (5 / 3)...the unfortunate part (well at least for me) was that last year I had 0 fines and this year I start with 5 fines at the f'n ins...I stink...other than that pretty close to last year's start and we all know where that left us in the first half...that's right in dead last place...we gotta pick up the pace...finally we get to the winner of this weeks prestigious "Skippy Award"...and that winner is Andy...Andy had 9 in fines (2 under 20's, 2 C-rules and 5 missed ins)...just for the record that is only 1 shy of a "Teddy"...Matt H had 6 in fines (2 under 20's, 3 C-rules and 1 squat in cricket)...Jeff and Jr each had 5 fines for missed ins...Ted had 4 fines (2 under 20's and 2 squats in cricket)...Ed had 1 fine for an under 20...
this week we hit our goal of a 50 team average...we had a 51.96 average...the low average of the night and the only shooter not to have better than a 45 average was Andy (40.59)...
as team we shot 35.09% of our shots under a 40...if we look deeper under the covers once again we see that these culprits had more than 30% of their shots under a 40...Ted had 47.62% of his shots under a 40...Andy (47.37%) and Matt H (41.18%) all shot more than 30% of their shots under a 40...and the following shooters had at least 1 game average under a 40...the following are their low game average of the night...Matt H (24.67), Andy (31.00), Ted (32.20), Jr (32.33) and Ed (36.33)...
Ted shot a 7, Andy shot a 7 and 6, Matt shot a 5 and 7...yup that's 15 darts shot and 32 points scored...not exaclty very good...you know I'm not a big fan of single digit scores...
this brings us to our Achilles heel every time...IN SHOTS...or like we might call them MISSED SHOTS...this week we had 19 missed ins...and yours truly (Jeff) led the stinking mess with 7 missed ins...disgusting...Jr and Andy were right on my heels with 5 missed ins each...so if you do the math that is where our 15 fines for missed ins came from...I'll say it again...NOT GOOD AT ALL...Ed and Ted had 1 missd in each and Matt H was a perfect 1 for 1 at the ins...
we only had 7 missed outs this week...but don't let that fool you...the main reason it was so low was that we didn't get down to the out shot very often...Jeff and Matt H had 2 missed outs each...Ed, Andy and Ted had 1 missed out each...Jr was a perfect 2 for 2 at the outs...good job Jr...
The following shooters shot less than a 2.0 average in cricket...Ted ("you're no Johnny"...but at least you were here) had the low cricket average of the night with a 1.00...Matt H (1.25) and Jr (1.33) all had lower than a 2.0 average...
Ted had 2 0-mark cricket rounds...Jr, Andy, Jeff and Matt H had 1 0-mark cricket round each...
Ed, Ted and Matt H only had a 14.29% win rate...Jeff had a 42.86% win rate...
THE HIGH LIGHTS
a good start to the year as we hit our goal of a 50 team average...this week we had a 51.96 team average...Jeff had the high average of the night with a 69.05...Jr (56.06) and ed (53.11) round out the over 50 club...Ted (46.49) and Matt H (46.49) round out the over 45 club...
let's look "over the covers" again this week...i think it's important to recognize the people that average over a 40 every game...and those shooters that shoot better than 70% of their shots over a 40.....Jeff (94.44% or 1 shot) and Ed (70.00% or 6 shots) were the only shooters to shoot over 70% of their shots over a 40...the following shooters averaged over a 40 each game....the following is their low game average...Jeff (41.00)...
this week we had 12 team tons...Jeff led the way with 4 tons...Jr had 3 tons...Ted and Matt H had 2 tons each...Ed had 1 ton...Andy wasn't "in the mood" to chuck any triple digit shots...
Jeff and Jr tied for the high score of the night with a 140...Jeff also had 125, 125 and 112...Matt H had a 112...ed had a 105...
Ed (3 @ 75.00%) led the way with 3 double ins...Jr and Jeff each had 2 double ins...Matt H had 1 double in...Andy was 0-5 at the ins...Ted was 0-1 at the ins...

CONCLUSION
well week 1 has come and gone...thank god...not exactly a great way to start the season...things looked promising when we jumped out to a 3-1 lead...unfortunately we had a million missed ins which prevented us to getting to any out shots...I'll give their team some props...I think they may have missed 1 in shot all night...can't win playing from behind every game...look on the bright side we have 20+ more weeks to improve...next week we play Post Office #3 at home...
