Darts 2007 - 2nd Half - Week 4 - Tom's Sportsman (away)

SUMMARY

well we played in the frozen tundra this week...not ideal conditions for indoor darts...but we had a pretty decent week...we went 9-6....it was very cold in the bar...but our team warmed up by banging out some serious tons this week...we had an impressive 14 team tons this week....which easily translated into an awesome 54.48 team average...we started the night out 4-0....then I think we lulled ourselves to sleep a little and gave back some winnable games...we had a decent 1.99 team cricket average but only wound up 1-2 in cricket...overall a fairly solid showing...

THE LOW LIGHTS

"dolla bills" came in at 18 in fines this week...Kenny and Andy tie for the prestigious "Skippy Award" with 5 in fines each....Kenny had 2 under 20's, a C-Rule, a missed in and a missed out....Andy had an under 20, 2 C-rules, a missed in and a squat shot....oh wait...does anyone remember the round that cost him 3 in fines...well if you forget let me remind you....over the loudspeaker we heard the following words muttered...."19 and 3 bucks"...yup a single 19 and 2 C-rules in one round....I don't really know what to say about that except I'm sure you would have made Skippy proud....Teddy and Jr followed closely behind with 3 in fines (under 20, missed in and missed out each)...Jeff and Johnny had 1 fine each for a missed in....on the bright side Roccia didn't owe any fines this week...oh wait...he wasn't even there last night...hahaha...

everyone had over a 45 average this week except Teddy....he had a measly 42.91 average...I guess that "5" he shot kinda hurt huh????

so my new favorite stat...the "under the covers" stat....if we look under the covers once again we see that everyone (except Johnny and Kenny) had at least 1 game average under a 40....Jr (33.00), Andy (32.75), Jeff (39.00) and Ted (23.00)...We gotta start focusing on averaging over a 40 each game at a minimum...also if we look even closer we can see that 31.67 of our shots were under a 40...an improvement over last week by 2 percent...I think we have to strive for that percentage to be closer to 20-25%....let's see how that breaks down by player...now remember a higher percentage is BAD!!!!....Jr (57.14%), Teddy (40.00%), Andy (33.33%), Kenny (23.81%), John (22.22%) and Jeff (13.64%)...let's work to get these under 25%.....or at a minimum under 33%...looking at the details we see that Jr at 57.14% is wayyyyyyyy too high....and Teddy at 40% is too high too....Andy is working towards the right percentage....Kenny and Johnny are well within my tolerance level...great job guys...and Jeff (with only 3 shots below a 40) at 13.64% shot fairly solid...the only issue with my scores are that I had too many shots in the 40's rather than the 60's or 80's or better like normal...but great improvement by most players (except Jr and Teddy this week)...

There were 1 under 9 this week...that was Teddy's "ton of 1's" for a total of 5....I guess I could say good grouping???? ...we had in total 5 under 20's...an improvement over last week...but still that number should be closer to 0....remember you really only have to hit one fatty of the number you're aiming at to prevent the under 20's....

Still missing a lot of in shots....we had 11 missed ins again...Jr led the way with 4...I guess you're not a #1 in shooter huh??? Jeff and Ted had 2 missed ins each....and everyone else had 1 missed in....

We did a pretty good job at the out shots last night...we had 14 missed outs but 9 of them were in one game...so if we exclude that game we had 5 missed outs...that's a great improvement...obviously the game with 9 missed outs really kills the overall missed outs...but look on the bright side...we actually won that game...Ted and Jr had 4 missed outs each....Kenny had 3 missed outs...Johnny had 2 missed outs....and Andy had 1 missed out....Jeff went a perfect 3 for 3 last night on the out shots...at this point I'd like to give myself some mad props for doing so...haha....

We had 3 shooters under a 2.0 average last night...and that translated into a 1-2 record in cricket....Ted and Kenny were doomed once their opponent hit that 7-mark round...they couldn't recover and the other team didn't miss at any target....Johnny had a 1.88, Jr a 1.71 and Andy a 1.86....

Jr, Ted and Kenny only had a 42.86% win rate....that's mainly because they all lost cricket...if they won cricket they would have each had a 57.14% win rate...remember guys those cricket games are important...

THE HIGH LIGHTS

I love when we have a team average over 50...very good job at hitting the high scores this week...we had a 54.48 team average...imagine how high that would have been if Teddy did better than a 42.91 average...Johnny (wait let me double check that...yup Johnny) had the team high this week with a very impressive 64.76 average...see what happens when you bang out 4 tons....great job Johnny....Kenny (59.86), Jeff (57.22) and Andy (53.92) all had over a 50 average...very nice guys...love those over 50 averages....Jr finished the night with a solid 48.28 average...great shooting guys....love high averages...

Tons were flying last night...we had 14 total tons...Kenny led the way with 5....Johnny banged out 4 tons....Jeff and Andy each had 2 tons...Jr had 1 ton.....Unfortunately Teddy didn't have a ton (unless you want to count the ton of 1's he had)....and we weren't just talking about any tons...we had some serious high tons last night...Jeff led the way with a 152 (and that was an in shot)...Jr had a 140...Johnny had (2) 133's...good stuff Johnny...Andy had a 126 and Kenny had a 114....not only a great job at tonning it up...great job hitting those high tons....

Jeff led the way with 3 double ins...Ted had 2 double ins...Kenny, Johnny and Jr each had 1 double in...Andy went 0 for 1 in the in shots....

Jeff led the way with a perfect 3 for 3 in double outs...Kenny had 2 double outs....Ted, Johnny and Andy each had 1 double out....and yes Teddy broke his out cherry this week...good job...now let's start hitting those outs every week....Jr went 0 for 4 at the outs....you can do better than that....otherwise good job with the outs boys...

As a team we shot a decent 1.99 cricket average....Kenny led the way with a 2.25 average...Jeff had a 2.22 average and Ted had a 2.0 average...but we only went 1-2....we need everyone over the 2.0 average....and let's get back to winning all 3 cricket games....

Jeff and Jr had 2 >=3-mark rounds...Everyone else had 1 >=3-mark round...Johnny made his count by hitting a 5 mark round....

Jeff and Johnny led the night with a 85.71% win rate....Andy had a 71.43% win rate...

CONCLUSION

It looked like we were going to 3-pete with double digit wins...but we fell just short finishing the night at 9-6...great job on the high scores and averages...great job on the outs if we exclude the one game with 9 missed outs....need to refocus on cricket...we should go at least 2-1 in cricket....good night overall....

We play away next week against Daddy O's...I'd like to exact some revenge for them beating us in the playoffs last half....bring your "A" game...
