Darts 2008 - 1st Half - Week 9 - Grey's Lodge (home)

SUMMARY

WOW!!!! what a week...we played very well this week and finished 14-1 against the second place team Grey's Lodge....this sits us comfortably on top of the division by 13 games...here are some reasons why we won so many games....a team 53.31 average....4 shooters over a 50 average....12 team tons (and I only had 1 of them)....only 3 missed ins....only 9 missed outs....and 5 different shooters had a double out...as a team we didn't shoot great in cricket but found a way to win all 3 games...our "over the covers" % stayed fairly good at 67.97%....and the most important stat of them all...a 93.33% win rate....

THE LOW LIGHTS

"dolla bills" were very under control last night with only 11 total in fines...and somehow we had 5 in squat shots in cricket...that equates to only 6 during all the '01 stats...Ed "I can't shoot cricket anymore" Roccia once again continues to be the leader of the pack for the prestigious "Skippy Award"....for those of you keeping score at home....that's his 6th week in a row....let me reiterate what I said last week....ever hear of practice or focus??? this week he only owed 4 in fines...and actually only owed one going into cricket...but he didn't want to lose his streak so he decided to chuck 3 squat shots in cricket....Johnny and Andy each had 2 in fines...Jr, Jeff and Ted each had 1 fine....very good consistent week guys...keep up the good work....

Johnny is the only shoot under a 45 average this week...he finished just below the mendoza line at 44.37...

"under the covers" remains respectable again this week for most...if we look under the covers once again we see the following culprits had at least 1 game average under a 40....Johnny (29.00), Andy (29.00), Ted (30.67) and Jeff (35.60).......we also had a nice 32.03% of our shots under a 40....Johnny and Andy both had 45.45% of their shots under a 40.....Ted had 36.84% of his shots under a 40...

We had 2 shooters with scores in the single digits...Johnny shot a 9 and Jeff shot a 7 (again...ughghgh)....and we did it in the last game of the night...Johnny started with a 9, Andy shot a 13 and Jeff shot a 7....not exactly our best round....single digits suck...pick up the pace....guys when all else fails let's aim for the big fat part....let's try and make sure each round we shoot is at least over a 40 (at a minimum)...

we only had 3 missed ins...now that's good shooting...Jeff had 1 missed in and Ed had 2 missed ins...that's a great job....

missed outs were in the single digits with only 9 missed outs....now that's how you win games....hit those outs....Andy led the way with 3 missed outs....Curran what happened you went from first in double outs last year to worst in double outs this year...I know you are the best assist man in the business (mostly because you miss outs and I clean up your mess)....we really need you to find the double out ring again....we need everyone hitting those outs....Johnny and Jr each had 2 missed outs....Jeff and Ted each had 1 missed out....single digit missed outs will help keep us winning...keep up the good work....

the shooters under the 2.0 mendoza line cricket average were Ed with his horrendous 0.60 average....I haven't seen shooting like that since Skippy played....Ed consistency will be your friend...concentrate all night long....Andy posted a pathetic 1.14, Johnny shot a less than great 1.60 and Ted rounds out the under 2.0 club with a 1.80 average....thank goodness they couldn't hit anything in cricket last night and we found a way to win all 3 games with that kind of weak shooting....remember the night isn't over until you shoot your last dart...

we had 9 total squat shots (including shots at cork) in cricket....Ed led the way with 5, Ted followed close behind with 3 and Jr had 1....

EVERYONE finished the night with over a 50% win rate...

THE HIGH LIGHTS

we had another impressive team average this week at 53.31....Jr "I wonder how I can shoot if I actually practiced" Oldfield finally put up his board and practiced and it paid off big time with the team high average at 62.08....Ed shot very well in '01 last night and had a 56.68 average....Ted got back to his consistent '01 shooting with a 56.22 average...Jeff had a less than "NoocH-like" average at only 53.45 to round out the over 50 club....Andy rounds out the over 45 club with a 47.03 average....I like seeing that many people with good averages....great work....

let's look "over the covers" again this week...i think it's important to recognize the people that average over a 40 every game.......and those shooters that shoot better than 70% of their shots over a 40.....Jr led the way with a lowest game score of 49.00.....Ed had a low game of 41.67...Jr shot an incredible 85.00% of his shots over 40....that translates to 3 shots under a 40....awesome job Jr...see how much practice pays off...Jeff was close behind with 83.33% of his shots over a 40....that translates to only 5 shots under a 40....and Ed rounds out the "over the covers" club with 70% of his shots over a 40 (for the second week in a row....great job Ed)....that's only 6 shots under a 40....good job "over the covers" people...esp those that are on the list for the first time.....that's some great consistent shooting guys....i love consistency and this stat helps show it....I'm glad we keep seeing some new names on this list....

this week we banged out 12 tons...Ed, Jr and Ted each nailed 3 tons...great job....Andy had 2 tons....and Jeff had only one ton but didn't waste it by hitting the team high of 140....love those tons...keep hitting them...make poppa proud again....

this week we were 72.73% at the in shots...a great improvement from last week....Jeff led the way with 3 ins @ 75%....Ed had 2 ins but only at 50%....Jr had 2 ins at 100% and Johnny had 1 in at 100%....that's great work by our second shooters to hit those ins when the first shooter misses....great team work...

a very awesome week at the out shots...Jeff led the way with 4 double outs...Ed, Jr and Ted each had 2 double outs...and Johnny rounded out the double outs with 1....a very, very good week at the outs...if we shoot that well each week we'd be unstoppable...

our team cricket average this week was sub par at only 1.72....Jeff led the way with a 2.60 average...Jr was close behind with a 2.50 average...and that's it for the over 2.0 cricket average club...

Jr led the way with 5 >=3-mark rounds...Ted had 4 >= 3-mark rounds....Jeff had 2 >= 3-mark rounds...and Johnny had 1 >= 3-mark rounds...Jeff had a 5-mark round....Jeff and Ted and Jr each had a 4-mark round...

Ed, Jr, and Ted had a 100.00% win rate....Johnny, Andy and Jeff had a 85.71% win rate...look at the difference from our last match...this week we have 6 shooters in over 50% win rate....awesome job....

CONCLUSION

a great time in the season to catch on fire...we have 1 week of the regular season and 2 weeks of playoffs...let's win it this year....all we have to do is shoot the same way we have all year....no need to try and change anything...everyone has to stay positive...our night started with white mountains but they turned as blue as balls once the pink valleys were out....haha....back on a serious note...great week....we have that kind of shooting inside all of us....let's have fun and and keep shooting well...we finish up the regular season away at Jokers....our goal is 3 more winning weeks...let's approach it one week at a time....have fun and enjoy shooting...see you in a few days...
