SUMMARY
week 4 we played Forrest Hills...we won the night 9-6...but after looking at the stats I have to question how the hell did we win this night...as a team we were sucky sucky...let's look at some of the non-stellar performances we put up...team average of only 47.38...certainly not helped out by Ed's pathetic 36.59 and Andy's lame 41.01....and yes we had a record...unfortunately not the good kind...we had 45 missed outs...let me spell that out for you....1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1...damn that's a lot of missed outs....so your investigative reporter went back to see what the max missed outs per year were....2007-2008 --> 30...2006-2007 --> 30...2005-2006 --> 39...2004-2005 -->40...2003-2004 --> 33...2002-2003 --> 35...2001-2002 --> 44...the very first year I played (7 years ago) we were in division 11 & 13 and we had less missed outs...talk about embarrassing...45 missed outs at division 4...now that leads me to wonder if other teams stink as bad...are they tanking to get a better draw for the 2nd half...we should have got smoked with such a horrendous performance we had last night...don't even get me started on the mess with fines we had this week...that will be pain stakenly detailed in the next section...a few bright notes from last nights performance...Jeff hits his first 180 of the year...we only had 7 missed ins and 1/2 of our double in rounds were hit by the first shooter and all of our double in rounds were hit by the first rotation...Jr continues to light the lamp in cricket with another average at 3.0....
THE LOW LIGHTS
"dolla bills" were flying again this week...we had a total of 29 in fines...Johnny and Andy tie for the prestigious "Skippy Award"....they both owed 7 in fines...Johnny owed 4 for under 20 and 3 for missed outs...Andy owed 1 for under 20, 3 for C-rules and 3 for missed outs...yo Curran a little less iPhone and a little more concentration on the dartboard...Ed owed a total of 5 fines...2 for under 20's, 1 for a C-rule, 1 for a missed out and 1 for a squat shot in cricket...way to spread those fines around Ed...Jeff owed 4 in fines...1 for an under 20 and 3 for missed outs...Jr owed 2 in fines...1 for under 20 and 1 for missed out...Ted owed 2 in fines...1 for missed out and 1 for squat shot in cricket...that's a lot of fines...let's try and improve next week...
Ed had the low average of the night with a very horrendous 36.59...we knew it was going to be a rough night when his first game he had 6 rounds under a 30...just a reminder we're in division 4 not 24...pick up the pace....Andy wasn't too far behind that...he only had a 41.01 average...both you guys can do better...for the second time i'm going to have to say a little less iPhone and a little more concentration at the dartboard...
as a team we had 39.16% of our shots under a 40...if we look under the covers once again we see that the following culprits had at least 1 game average under a 40...Ed (22.50), Andy (27.67), John (31.00), Jr (38.00) and Ted (39.67)...the following shooters had more than 30% of their shots under a 40...Andy (63.64%), Ed (57.69%), Ted (34.78%), John (33.33%)...That's right go look at Andy and Ed' % again...yup that means more (way more) than half their shots were under a 40...that's bad for any standard...
This week Jr (6) had a score in the single digits...
We had 7 missed ins this week...Jr led the way with 3 missed ins...I guess we're still looking for a consistent in shooter for that "B" team...Ted had 2 missed ins...and Johnny and Jeff each had 1 missed in...Ed was a perfect 2 for 2 and Andy was a perfect 1 for 1 in the anchor spot...
we had an embarrassing 45 missed outs this week...Jeff led the way with a disgusting 10 missed outs....I couldn't hit the side of a barn last night...Johnny and Andy each had 9 missed outs...Jr and Ted each had 6 missed outs...and Ed had 5 missed outs...wow...that's some horrible shooting at the double ring...
Ted had the lowest cricket average of the night with a 1.38...that rounds him out to a feeble 1.55 YTD...pick up your cricket game or I see Bill trying his hand soon ...Ed didn't fare too well either with only a 1.44 cricket average....maybe a little more focus on shooting darts when you're playing and a little less worrying about where you're going to rush to in order to find some tail to go home and bang...
Ed had 2 0-mark round in cricket...Ted had 1 0-mark cricket round...
Everyone had over a 50% win rate last night...good job...like I already said...how the "F" do we all have over a 50% win rate with the pathetic shooting we had???
THE HIGH LIGHTS
once again we fell below our goal of a team average of 50...we had a team average of 47.38...Jeff led the way with a 59.71 average...Ted had a 51.42 average to round out the over 50 club...Jr (49.42) and Johnny (46.11) round out the over 45 club...
let's look "over the covers" again this week...i think it's important to recognize the people that average over a 40 every game...and those shooters that shoot better than 70% of their shots over a 40.....Jeff (42.50) was the only shooter with all his game averages over a 40...Jeff led the way with 79.17% of his shots over a 40...that translates to only 5 shots under a 40...Jr shot 75.00% of his shots over a 40...that translates into only 6 shots under a 40...
this week we only had 5 team tons...Jeff and John had 2 tons each...Jr had 1 ton...we have to try and get double digit tons...helps the score go down a lot quicker...
Jeff had the high score of the night with 180...once again we hear the old English announcer in the back of the room scream out...ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY...I couldn't hit anything all night...so I'll dwell on this shot a bit....Johnny had a very nice 133....
Jeff had 3 double ins...Ed had 2 double ins...Jr, Andy and Ted each had 1 double in...much better job at the ins this week...it's always good when we don't have any fines at the ins and we keep our missed ins under double digits...
Johnny and Jr led the way with 2 double outs each...Ed, Jeff and Ted each had 1 out...
Once again Jr puts on a clinic in cricket...for the 2nd week in a row Jr posts an average in the 3's....this week he had a very impressive 3.00 average...Jeff is starting to get back on track shooting a 2.67...Andy shot a very nice 2.25....and Johnny rounds out the over 2.0 club with a solid 2.20...
Jr led the way with 4 >=3-mark rounds each...that translated into 80.00% of his rounds...awesome job...Jeff had 3 >=3-mark rounds...that translated into 50.00% of his shots...Ed 2 @ 22.22%, Johnny 2 @ 40%, Andy 1 @ 25% and Ted 1 @ 12.50%....
Jr led the way with a 71.43% win rate...Everyone else on the team posted a 57.14% win rate...good job having everyone over a 50% win rate...

CONCLUSION
What can I say that I already didn't say...we somehow have a winning week with some of the worst shooting we ever had...45 missed outs and a team average of only 47.38 and you still win the night...I'm crying foul...don't know if other teams are intentionally tanking games or if the other teams are really that bad....but you know once we get into the playoffs we'll still be shooting the same and miraculously the other teams won't hit under a 60 and won't miss an in or an out shot...I guess either way we just have to come out and try and get better every week...
