Darts 2009 - 2nd Half - Week 08 - Coach's (home)

SUMMARY

we break our 3 week losing streak this week with an impressive 11-4 win over Coach's...we get back on track and shoot a team average of 52.07...we had 11 team tons...6 different shooters had a double out...but unfortunately we fall short of our 2.0 cricket average and only shot a team average of 1.81...we only had 10 missed ins and 7 of them were in one game that was a losing effort...and we only had 6 missed outs...that's a great job...

THE LOW LIGHTS

"dolla bills" started flying again this week...we owed 22 team fines...Jeff and Bill were tied for the Skippy award going into cricket...Jr hits a squat during their game and we had a 3 way tie...but to get on the good side of the captain both Bill and Jr shoot a back to back round of squat shots to tie for the prestigious "Skippy Award"...Jr (5) had 3 under 20's and 2 squats at cricket...Bill (5) had 2 under 20's, 2 missed ins and 1 squat at cricket...Jeff (4) had 1 under 20, 1 C-rule and 2 missed ins...wow I had a rough first 2 rounds...Andy (3) had 1 C-rule and 2 missed ins...Ed (2) had 1 C-rule and 1 squat at cricket...Ted (2) had 1 under 20 and 1 squat at cricket...Johnny had 1 C-rule which he is protesting...but unfortunately I had to uphold...

Jr was the only shooter to shoot under a 45...Jr shot a 42.49...

lets look "under the covers" this week...we shot 36.22% of our shots under a 40....a little improvement over last week...but if we look deeper under the covers once again we see that these culprits had more than 30% of their shots under a 40...Bill led the way for the 2nd week in a row with 54.55% of his shots under a 40...Johnny had 50.00% of his shots under a 40...Jr (42.86%) and Ed (37.50%) both fell short of our less than 30% goal...and the following shooters had at least 1 game average under a 40...these are their lowest game average...let me classify these for you...here's the pathetic category (0-30)...Bill (25.00)...the still not so good category (31.00-39.99)...Jr (33.00), Andy (33.00), Ed (36.00), Ted (38.67), Johnny (39.00) and Jeff (39.50)...in case you are hard of reading...that's everyone on our team with at least 1 game with an average under a 40...not very good...also let's put my dollar bill week into perspective...I owed 5 in fines for the first 7 weeks...and I owed 4 in fines just tonight...wow that sucks...

We had 3 under 9's this week...Ted (6), Jr (7) and Bill (7)...

we had 10 missed ins this week...that's a decent job especially considering we had 7 in one game...Jeff led the way with a horrendous 4 missed ins...Andy and Bill each had 2 missed ins...Ed and Jr each had 1 missed in...Ted didn't even get a shot at an in...and Johnny was a perfect 1 for 1...

this week we had 6 missed outs...that's a great job...any time we can keep the missed outs to single digits means one of 2 things...we are hitting the outs when we have a chance or we are sucking so bad we aren't even getting a chance to hit an out...fortunately this week we were hitting the outs...Jr led the way with 2 missed outs...Ed, Johnny, Ted and Bill each had 1 missed out...Andy and Jeff were a perfect 1 for 1 at the outs...

Andy got benched again in cricket based on his lowly 1.0 average from 2 weeks ago...Jr may hit the bench because for the second time in two weeks Bill out shot him in cricket...and Andy was playing out of his mind in the "after hours" shoot...it's going to be interesting next week...people will be playing for their right to play cricket...Ed had the lowest cricket average of the night with an Andy like 1.25...Ted had a 1.38 average...with scores like that its amazing how the heck they won this week...Jr shot a 1.50 and Bill shot a 1.75....66.67% of our shooters under a 2.0 is not good...

we had 8 squat shots at cricket...Ed, Ted and Jr each had 2...Bill and Jeff each had 1...Jeff's was a stupid one too...we had the game in the bag and rather than just shooting at the open 20 to get enough points for the win he went for points at the cork...dumb move...at least we won...and i can look past it since I banged a 7 mark in the first round...

Bill was the only shooter under a 50% win rate...Bill had a lowly 25.00% win rate...

THE HIGH LIGHTS

we get back to basics and shoot a team average of 52.07...Bill led the way with a 64.06 average...ya think that stray 121 round when it was his only shot helped out his average??? well I for one surely was intrigued since he had 54.55% of his shots under a 40 and a low game average of 25...so as a good investigative reporter would do I looked up what his average by dart was...it was only 45.27...so almost a 20 point swing from the 121 average game...either way welcome to the top this week....Ted (58.93), Jeff (57.18) and Ed (53.82) round out the over 50 club...Andy (48.56) and Johnny (46.48) round out the over 45 club...good averages this week...

let's look "over the covers" again this week...i think it's important to recognize the people that average over a 40 every game...and those shooters that shoot better than 70% of their shots over a 40...nobody shot overa 40 average every game...that's some weak ass shooting...Jeff (81.25% or 3 shots), Ted (76.47% or 4 shots) and Andy (70.00% or 6 shots) were the shooters with over 70% of his shots over a 40...good job...I was off by 1 when I said I wouldn't shoot any more under the covers after my first 2 rounds...

this week we had 11 team tons...I love double digit tons...Ed and Johnny led the way with 3 tons each...Jeff had 2 tons...and Jr, Ted and Bill had 1 ton each...surprise, surprise...Andy wasn't "in the mood" to have any scores in the triple digits...

Ed had the high score of the night with a 137 and 124....Ted had a 125 and Bill had a 121...nice scores...

Jr led the way with 3 @ 75.00%) at the double ins...Johnny was a perfect 1 for 1...Jeff and Bill had 2 double ins each...Ed went 0-1, Andy went 0-2 and Ted didn't even get a shot at an in...

Ed, Jr and Andy each had 2 double outs...Johnny, Jeff and Ted each had 1 double out...Bill went 0-1...

Jeff led the night with a solid 3.00 average in cricket...Johnny shot a 2.00 to round out the over 2.0 club...

Jeff led the way with (3 @ 60.00%) >= 3-mark rounds...Bill (2), Johnny (1), Jr (1) and Ted (1) had the other >= 3-mark rounds...

Jeff had a very impressive 7 mark round to open their game of cricket...

Ed finished the night with an 85.71% win rate....Johnny, Jeff and Ted each finished the night with a 83.33% win rate...Jr had a 71.43% win rate...and Andy had a 66.67% win rate...good job with the win rates...

501-2 -- Jeff hits a 68 on...Andy hits a 97 out...trip 19, double top...and Jeff pulls his darts...very nice out...

501-3 -- Jr gets in...Ed takes the game out...

501-4 -- 7 missed ins...Bill gets in and hits a 121 to have a 121 average...obviously a loss...

501-5 -- Jr gets in...10 of 11 shots were under a 45...another loss...

501-6 -- Jeff hits a huge 102 on...Johnny hits a ton...Andy has a C-rule but makes up for it by hitting his 2nd out of the night...

501-7 -- 2 missed ins...Bill gets in...Ed hits a 100...Bill hits a 7....Ed takes the game out...

501-8 -- Jeff misses the in...Johnny gets in...Jeff hits a 100...then later Jeff takes the game out...after '01 we are up 9-3...

Cricket-1 -- Ed shoots 2, 2, 2, 0, 2, 1, 1, 0...Ted shoots 2, 0, 4, 1, 2, 1, 0, 1...somehow that mess was good enough for a win...

Cricket-2 -- Jeff shoots 7, 3, 2, 3, 0...Johnny shoots 4, 2, 1, 1, 2...another win...games are much easier when you jump out to a huge lead...

Cricket-3 -- Jr shoots 2, 1, 4, 0, 2, 2, 0, 1...Bill shoots 1, 3, 2, 1, 5, 0, 1, 1...not good enough...we end the night 11-4...

way to get back on the winning ways...I love double digit wins...very nice team average of 52.07...6 shooters had a double out...much more consistency is paying off...only 3 weeks till playoffs...lets ratchet up and get ready for a good playoff run...
