SUMMARY
are you f'n kidding me??? how the heck do we lose to the last place team 6-9??? i knew we were inconsistent last night and they were shooting half decent but when I looked at the stats it screams out that we should have killed these guys....well at least until I found my least favorite stat...that's right...MISSED OUTS...twenty f'n one of them...that's right 21!!!...that's friggin horrible...no wonder we lost....can't win games without taking them out...inconsistency was running rampant last night...21 was the theme of the night...we also had a whopping 21 in fines...not very good....
on the bright side we did have a team average of 51.33 and a team cricket average of 2.01...which are kick ass scores...but if you can't take games out those high scores don't mean crap...
THE LOW LIGHTS
"dolla bills" were flying for the 2nd week in a row...we had 21 in fines...we have an old staple back as the winner of the prestigious "Skippy Award"...that's right...Ted took top billing with 8 in fines...he spread it around pretty good with 3 under 20's, 3 C-rules, 1 missed in and 1 squat shot at cricket...Ted you are shooting much better...imagine what your average would be if you eliminate the under 20's and C-rules...with 6 fines in those categories and still having a 51 average is pretty impressive...but just imagine how impressed I'd be if you kept the damn darts on the board...Jr racked up 4 more in fines, followed closely by Johnny and Andy with 3 each...Kenny contributed 2 in fines (which we won't see...well at least for 10 months or so)...and Jeff contributed his first fine in the past 3 weeks...those damn missed ins...ha...
Johnny was the only shooter under a 45 average this week...he recorded a fairly lame 41.53....Johnny you can do better than that...but if we look under the covers for a minute we see that everyone (except Jeff) had at least 1 game average under a 40)....Jr (21.75), Johnny (28.50), Andy (32.00), Ed (33.33), Ted (35.60) and Kenny (38.33)...also if we look even closer we can see that 37.88% of our shots were under a 40...to me that seems like a very high percent of bad shots...that just goes to show the inconsistencies from game to game...we gotta strive to hit good scores every round and good averages every single game so we have a chance to shoot at the outs...
At least this week we didn't have anyone shoot a 1...I guess that's progress....but we do have 2 shooters with under 9's....Jr shot a 6 twice and Ted shot a 7....splashing would be better...concentrate each and every shot...under 9's are unacceptable...
We did a decent job at the in shots...but we still had 7 missed ins...led this week by Jeff & Johnny with 2 each...Kenny, Ted and Andy each had a missed in...Jr hit a perfect 2 in shots and Ed hit a perfect 1 in shot...good job guys...the rest of us slackers better start hitting the ins more consistently...
Well we set a new record this week...it's a f'n shame that it's a bad record...we had 21 missed outs....oh my f'n gosh....that's pathetic...no wonder we lost to the last place team...Andy led the way with 5 missed outs...Jr followed closely behind with 4 missed outs...Johnny and Kenny each had 3 missed outs...Jeff, Ed and Ted all had 2 missed outs...guys 21 missed outs??? we're not playing f'n blackjack...21 is very very unacceptable...ughghghgh...it was embarrassing to say the least....
guys start practicing the double ring...we need to kill the ins and outs if we expect to do anything in the playoffs...
We had 3 shooters below the mendoza line of 2.0 in cricket...Johnny (1.83), Jr (1.67) and Andy (1.60)...Jr and Andy accounted for the only cricket loss of the night...guys you had a good chance to win that game until you both chucked back to back squat shots at the 17's....we need to have at least 2.0 averages in cricket minimum in order to compete...
THE HIGH LIGHTS
We had a very impressive team average of 51.33....Everyone (except Johnny) shot over a 45 this week...Jeff led the way with his 2nd very high average week in a row...this week I threw a 69.11....Ted threw a 51.27 and that included 3 C-rules and 3 under 20's...you eliminate those 6 in fines and you would have been in the upper 50's....you're getting much better but let's tighten up on the strays...Kenny posted the other over 50 average with a 50.35....Rounding out the over 45's are Andy (49.77), Jr (46.95) and Ed (46.77)....guys great shooting overall...but we gotta have consistent shooting game to game as well...as i noted above everyone (exept Jeff) had at least 1 game's average under 40...imagine if you didn't have bad games like that how high the averages would go...let's stay consistent...but either way they are some very nice averages this week...
We did a decent job at the tons this week...everyone hit a ton (except Andy-who's favorite line is "why can't all 3 fall in the same target")....Jeff led the way with 3 tons and 2 of them were 140's....Everyone else (except Andy) had 1 ton....Jr had a 140 also and Ed had a 133...nice shots guys...
Jeff led the way with 3 ins this week....but Ed and Jr were both perfect on their in shots...Ed hit his only shot at an in and Jr hit both of his shots at in....Kenny contributed 2 in shots as well...Johnny, Andy and Ted combined went 0 for 4 on the ins...decent job at the ins this week...but there's always room for improvement...
Thank god Ed showed up last night...he hit 3 out shots...keep up the good work Ed...Andy also contributed 1 out shot...but don't forget we had 21 missed outs as a team...we need to hit them more consistently....
A decent week at cricket...we went 2-1...but three scores below a 2.0 isn't very good...Jeff led the way with a 2.57 average...Team Ted (2.17) and Ed (2.14) shot a very consistent game accounting for one of the wins...Jeff and John won the other cricket game....
Everyone (and I mean everyone) shot at least 1 >=3-mark round...Jeff, Ed and Ted led the way with 3....Johnny, Jr and Andy had 1 each...love those trips...good work...
YTD Leaders
Average - Jeff (60.33)...woohoo finally got above 60; High Score - Ed (180) / Johnny (171) - I guess we'll call this the patch club; Tons - Jeff (22 @ 12.79%); Double Ins - Jeff (23 @ 62.16%); Double Outs - Jeff (17 @ 58.62%) and honorable mention to Ed for being in double digits (11 @ 36.67%)...
Cricket Average - Jeff (2.60); >=3-mark rounds - Jeff (26 @ 47.27%); Overall win % - Johnny (68.63%); Fines (low) - Jeff (9)
CONCLUSION
Missed outs were insanely horrible this week....21 MISSED OUTS!!!! how many time do I have to say that....and compound that with a 6-9 record against the last place team...it's horrible and embarrassing...we need to hit those outs...practice the doubles boys....
Is it a coincidence? Boobie hunt seemed to consume most of the focus for some of the boys last night and we shot like crap...too much focus on the boobies and not enough focus on the outs...i bet if i drew a nip on the outs you might hit it....stayed focused on darts for the couple hours we play...play boobie hunt afterwards if you need your fix...
On the good side...Ed hit 3 outs which were dearly needed...and we had nice team averages in '01 and cricket...we just have to maintain good shooting "consistently"....
Take next week off boys...have a good Turkey Day....see most of you in Myrtle....then let's get ready for the last 2 weeks of the regular season and post winning weeks going into the playoffs....
