Darts 2008 - 1st Half - Week 6 - General Grants (away)

SUMMARY

for the third week in a row we post double digit wins....and this week we did it in big time style...we won 13-2 against General Grants....we had a bunch of highlights this week...first and foremost was Andy hitting an 81, 81 and then the out...that's good shooting...we also had Teddy bang a 7-mark round in cricket and having the highest average of the night...we had a team average of 53.29 and a team cricket average of 2.16....and 11 team tons....Jeff and Ed each had 3 double outs to keep the out race very close...we also had some not so good things...Ed for the third week in a row bangs out 8 in fines...Nooch busted on a 112 double out...but fortunately we won that game...love those double digit wins...keep up the good work...

THE LOW LIGHTS

"dolla bills" were better the same as last week with 19 fines for the week....Sir Edward claims the prestigious "Skippy Award" for the 3rd week in a row by chucking up 8 more in fines...for a guy who says you shouldn't be shooting shots under a 20 our wonderful ex-capt shot 5 of them...along with a C-rule and 2 missed ins...that's alot of sucky sucky Eddy...pick up the pace....Johnny and Jr each had 3 in fines...Jeff and Ted had 2 in fines....and the little loud man only had one in fines for a missed in....on the bright side we're starting to pad the kitty for the playoffs...ha...

as one might expect...only Ed (with his 5 under 20's and 1 C-rule) with his 44.40 average shot below the mendoza line of 45 this week....

once again the "under the covers" are quite frightening....if we look under the covers once again we see that EVERYONE (except Andy and Ted) had at least 1 game average under a 40....and this week have Ed (20.33) and Jeff (20.67) with the crappies of crap under 30 average...ughghgh....John (36.00) and Jr (38.75) rounded out the shooters with low games under a 40...We gotta start focusing on averaging over a 40 each game at a minimum...and we can't be throwing games in the 20's...on the good side we only had 29.92% of our shots under a 40....under 30% is what I condider a good week....Ed led the under the covers with 43.38% of his shots under a 40....and Jr was close behind with 42.86% of his shots under a 40...guys let's focus on shooting to get those percentages into the 20's or lower...

We had 3 shooters with scores in the single digits once again...Ed had 2 of them with a 9 twice....Jr chucked up a 5....and Jeff hit a 7....single digits suck...pick up the pace....guys when all else fails let's aim for the big fat part....let's try and make sure each round we shoot is at least over a 40 (at a minimum)...

we were at 16 missed ins this week....that's way too high....Jr and Ed led the mess with 5 missed ins each....Jeff and Ted had 2 missed ins each and Johnny and Andy had 1 missed in each....we need to hit those in shots to give us chances of winning consistently....

I don't know how we won 13 games when we had 24 missed outs....John and Ted had 5 missed outs each....Jr and Andy each had 4 missed outs....Ed and Jeff had 3 missed outs...we gotta get to single digit missed outs again...24 is wayyyyyy too high....

thank god Ted felt like shooting cricket this week...otherwise Ed's 1.50 average would have resulted in a loss....and now we can see why I say we have to shoot over a 2.0 average in our games....Jr (1.89) and Andy (1.13) resulted in our only cricket loss of the night...gotta do better at the cricket scores...

we had 4 squat shots in cricket....2 each by Jr and Andy...and did I mention they were the only team that lost in cricket???

Everyone finished the night with over a 50% win rate....good job...

THE HIGH LIGHTS

we had another week of great team averages....this week we had a team average of 53.29...that's even more impressive because I didn't chuck a 70 average to help pull it up....actually Ted led the was with a very impressive 58.36....Andy followed close behind with a 56.43, Jeff had a 56.16, Jr shot a 53.22 and Johnny shot a 51.19.....that's some good shooting...awesome job guys....

let's look "over the covers" again this week...i think it's important to recognize the people that average over a 40 every game.......and those shooters that shoot better than 70% of their shots over a 40.....Ted (44.60) and Andy (42.00) were our 2 shooters with a low game over a 40....that's the 2nd week in a row for Andy....nice consistent shooting little guy...Jeff led the way with 80.95% of his shots over a 40...Ted (77.27%), Johnny (75%) and Andy (75%) also joined the "over the covers" club for shooting 70% of their shots over a 40.....Jeff had 4 shots under a 40...and Ted, Johnny and Andy each only had 5 shots under a 40....that's some great consistent shooting guys....i love consistency and this stat helps show it....hopefully we'll keep seeing some new names on this list in the weeks to come...

this week we banged out 11 tons...very good...you know I love those tons...Ted led the way this week with 4 tons...Jr banged out 3 tons....Jeff had only 2 tons this week....and Andy had 1 ton....unexpectedly Johnny didn't have a ton...Ted had the high score of the night with a 135...and Ed and Jr each had a 121....great job....

this week we shot 33.33% at the in shots...Jeff and Ted led the way with 3 in shots each...Ed and Johnny had 1 in shot each...we have to do better at the ins...gotta start getting into single digits missed ins....

we did a great job spreading the outs around again this week....Jeff and Ed led the way with 3 double outs each...to keep the race tight at the top separated by only one double out....Andy threw 2 double outs....and Ted, Johnny and Jr each had 1 double out....I love when everyone contributes to the outs...keep up the good work....

we shot a very impressive team cricket average at 2.16....Ted was on fire last night with very very impressive 3.60 average...Jeff had a 2.60 and Johnny had a 2.40 average...at least 50% of our shooters shot above a 2.0 average...we need to get all our shooters up in that range...

Ted, Jeff and Jr led the way with 3 >=3-mark rounds...Johnny had 2 >=3-mark rounds....and Ed had 1....Andy was the only shooter without a >=3-mark round...and see how that directly relates with his crap 1.13 average....everyone knows I love those high mark rounds...

Jeff and Johnny led with a 100% win rate...Ed, Andy and Ted had a 85.71% win rate....and Jr had a 71.43% win rate...double digit wins always help with the win rates....good job...

CONCLUSION

a very nice double digit win night...I love double digit wins...a team average of 53.29, 11 tons, 6 players with double outs, 2.16 team cricket average...that's a pretty good night in my book....we need to do better at in shots and out shots....most made improvements in "under the covers"....consistency is key...after 6 weeks we sit atop the division by 7 games....let's continue to do well for the rest of this half...next week we play Drew's at home....let's keep the winning ways going....
