Darts 2009 - 2nd Half - Week 04 - Bog Side (home)

SUMMARY

talk about a week of best of both worlds...we pad our kitty with 28 in fines....AND we beat Bog Side by a score of 12-3...who could ask for more...let's take a look at some of my favorite stats to see how we did...team average of 52.20 and everyone had over a 45 average...that goes a long way...double digit tons (thanks to Jeff's 6 tons)....only 10 missed ins and 5 of them were in one game that we eventually lost...5 of our 6 shooters had a double out...that's what i call spreading it around...but we did have 18 missed outs though...fortunately their team couldn't hit the outs either or the night could have been a whole lot different...a lot of games were barn burners than seemed like neither team wanted to put away...fortunately we came out on the winning side of a lot of those exchanges...but if we play that way against a team that could hit outs we would have been in big trouble...we won 3-0 in cricket...but with really only average shooting...their team had a bad run at least 1 of their 2 shooters...but i'm glad we capitalized why we could...overall i love double digit wins...great week guys...

THE LOW LIGHTS

"dolla bills" were the highest of the 2nd half....we had 28 in total fines...Jr and Ed were neck and neck for the distinction of winning the prestigious "Skippy Award"...they both owed 8 in fines...Ed owed 4 for under 20, 2 for C-rule, 1 for missed in and 1 for squat at cricket...Jr had 5 under 20's, 1 c-rule, 1 missed in and 1 squat at cricket...Andy and Bill owed 4 in fines each...Andy owed for a C-rule, 1 missed out and 2 squats at cricket...Bill owed for 1 under 20, 2 C-rules and 1 missed in...Johnny owed 2 in fines for 1 missed out and 2 squats at cricket...Jeff owed 1 in fines for a missed out...wow...10 fines for under 20, 6 fines for C-rule and 6 fines for squat in cricket...can anyone out there in darts land say "hit what the hell you are aiming at please"...

a very nice week at averages...nobody shot under a 45 average...

we did much better at "under the covers" this week...we shot 30.23% of our shots under a 40....but if we look deeper under the covers once again we see that these culprits had more than 30% of their shots under a 40......Jr led the crap parade with 50.00% of his shots under a 40...Andy had 44.44% of his shots under a 40...Ed just missed the goal with 33.33% of his shots under a 40...and the following shooters had at least 1 game average under a 40...Jr (26.14), Ed (29.00), Andy (30.75), Johnny (37.00)...

We had 6 under 9's this week...Jr had 4 of them (7, 9, 6, 9) and Ed had 2 of them (9, 5)...you know my feelings about under 9's...BUT 6 of them??? horrible....

we had 10 missed ins this week...Ed had 5 missed ins this week...so in the last 2 weeks Ed went 0-9 at the ins...looking into my crystal ball I see someone being promoted to the new B team #1...unfortunately there is slim pickings...so maybe i'll just put a name out of a hat...haha...Jr had 3 missed ins...Jeff and Bill had 1 missed in each...

this week we had 18 missed outs...8 of them were in one game that we eventually won...Andy led the way with 5 missed outs...Johnny, Jeff and Bill had 3 missed outs each...Ed and Jr had 2 missed outs each...

Johnny posts the lowest cricket average of the night with a measly 1.14...oh yeah now i remember why my back was hurting this morning...Bill (1.57), Andy (1.75), Ed (1.88) and Jr (1.88) all fell below the goal of 2.0...but on the bright side we did sweep cricket for the 2nd week in a row...

holy squat shots batman...we have 7 0-mark rounds...Ed, Johnny and Andy each had 2 0-mark rounds each...Jr had 1 0-mark round...that's not going to light the lamp...

Everyone finished the night with > 50% win rate...great job...

THE HIGH LIGHTS

finally we get the averages back on track...we had a team average of 52.19...and EVERYONE finished with over a 45 average...imagine how good things could have been if we didn't have 10 under 20's and 6 C-rules...Jeff led the way with week with a 63.98 average...Bill has a nice week and shoots a 53.38 average...Andy in a shocking turn of events bangs out a 52.65 average to round out the over 50 club...Johnny (49.11), Ed (47.25) and Jr (46.75) round out the over 45 club...great week with the averages guys...see that wasn't too hard...

let's look "over the covers" again this week...i think it's important to recognize the people that average over a 40 every game...and those shooters that shoot better than 70% of their shots over a 40....Bill (41.43) and Jeff (40.50)were the only shooters with over a 40 average every game...Jeff (85.71% or 3 shots), Bill (81.82% or 4 shots) and Johnny (77.27% or 5 shots) were the shooters to have over 70% of their shots over a 40...very nice job having multiple people on this list...consistency is key...keep up the good work...

this week we had 10 team tons...Jeff was on fire and nailed 6 tons...Jr had 2 tons...Ed and Johnny had 1 ton each...Bill and Andy weren't "in the mood" to have any scores in the triple digits...

Jeff had the high score of the night with a 140...Johnny had a 108...

Jeff led the way with 3 double ins (3 @ 75.00%)...Bill (2 @ 66.67%), Jr (2 @ 40.00%) and Johnny (1 @ 100.00%)had the other ins...Ed went 0 for 5...and Andy didn't even get a chance to shoot an in shot...

Jeff and Andy led the way with 3 double outs each (50.00% and 37.50% respectively)...Ed, Jr and Bill had 1 double out each...Johnny unfortunately went 0-3 at the outs...but that left a lot of room for Andy to bang his 3...

Jeff led the way with a 2.75 cricket average where in a rare case he had to carry Johnny.....and that rounds out the over 2.0 club...

Jeff led the way with 4 @ 50.00% >= 3-mark rounds...Ed, Jr and Andy each had 2 @ 25.00% >= 3-mark rounds...Johnny and Bill each had 1 >= 3-mark round...

Johnny, Andy and Jeff went a perfect 7-0 for 100%...Ed, Jr and Bill had a 57.14% win rate...

801-1 -- what a mess of a game this was...i'm thinking this must have been a record but i'm not going to verify it...an "8 buck game"...are you kidding me? Ed had a 18, 13, 9, 5...Bill had an 11 and c-rule...Jr had a 7 and 9...you guessed it we start the night with a big fat loss...but what the heck if we are going to lose we might as well pad the kitty with 8 in fines...

801-2 -- Jeff shots a 100...we had 8 missed outs...but Andy nails the double 1 for the win...

501-1 -- we start the game with 5 missed ins...Bill gets in...Jr hits a ton...but as happens so many times...you miss the ins you wind up missing your chance to win...yup a loss...

501-2 -- Jeff gets on...Johnny hits a 108...Andy follows that up with a 97 and then the next round Andy takes the game out...

501-3 -- Ed misses the in...Jr gets in...and listen to these 3 back to back rounds...Bill hits an 80 and a C-rule...Ed hits a 60 and a C-rule and Jr hits a 9...149 points and 3 bucks...haha....Bill eventually takes the out after 3 missed out chances...

501-4 -- Jeff hits a 53 on...only 2 other scores above 50...but Jeff takes the game out for the win...

501-5 -- 2 missed ins...Bill gets in...Jr hits a C-rule...and we lose another one...

501-6 -- Jeff get a 69 on...then the following round Jeff nails a 140....Andy takes the game out...

501-7 -- Ed misses the in for the 4th game in a row (0-5)...Jr gets in...Ed tries to make up for it by hitting a ton...Jr follows that up with a 95 and Bill follows that up with a 92...nice round guys...Ed winds up taking the game out...

501-8 -- Jeff misses the in shot...Johnny hits the in shot...Jeff hits a 100...and the next round Jeff takes the game out...so after '01 we are winning 9-3...

Cricket-1 -- Ed starts the game with a squat shot...Andy has back to back rounds of squat shots at 19....and isn't that the number he shoots at in '01??? Ed shoots 0, 4, 2, 2, 1, 1, 5, 0...Andy shoots 2, 0, 0, 4, 3, 1, 2, 2...good enough for the win...

Cricket-2 -- Jeff shoots 5, 2, 3, 4, 2, 2, 1, 3...Johnny shoots 1, 0, 2, 3, 0, 1, 1...a close game where the other team started with a 5 spot at the 20's....but luckily we pull the game out...

CONCLUSION

a very solid week...every got above a 45 average...we kept the missed ins low...we spread around the double outs...and and we still find ways to sweep in cricket with less than stellar performances...the good thing is we are starting to capitalize when other teams are struggling...next week we play Cannonballs (ie CJ & Ecks) away...
