Darts 2009 - 2nd Half - Week 03 - Coachs (away)

SUMMARY

this week we played Coach's and won 9-6...we did that with a sweep in Cricket...it felt like we should have won a lot more games though...we had 14 missed ins and 21 missed outs...way too many...we fell below our goal of a team 50 average by only coming in at 49.61...another week of a lot of sporadic shooting...we had 38.17% of our shots under a 40...with 3 shooters with 45% or more of their shots under a 40...we only had 5 tons...we did have a decent cricket night...with a team cricket average of 2.36...

THE LOW LIGHTS

"dolla bills" were high again this week...we had 22 in total fines...Jr has the distinction of winning the prestigious "Skippy Award"....Jr owed 6 in fines...he had 4 under 20's, 1 missed in and 1 missed out...Ed and Andy each had 4 in fines...Ed had 1 under 20, 1 missed in, 1 missed out and 1 squat in cricket...Andy had 2 under 20's, 1 C-rule and 1 missed in...Johnny had 3 in fines for 1 under 20, 1 c-rule and 1 missed in...Ted and Bill had 2 in fines...Ted had 1 missed in and 1 missed out...Bill had 2 under 20's...Jeff had 1 in fines for a missed in...

there were some bad averages last night...Andy led the mess with his 3rd straight week of under 40 averages...this week the little guy threw up a 38.29...that's a pretty horrendous start to the 2nd half...look on the bright side things can only get better...at least we hope...Bill was right behind him with a 40.24...and Ed rounds out the under 45 club with only a 42.00 average...there isn't any excuse to average under a 45 at division 4...focus and hit what you are aiming at...

as a team we did a pretty bad job under the covers for the 3rd week in a row...we shot 38.17% of our shots under a 40....but if we look deeper under the covers once again we see that these culprits had more than 30% of their shots under a 40......Bill led the crap parade with 63.64% of his shots under a 40...Andy had 56.25% of his shots under a 40...Jr had 47.836% of his shots under a 40...Ed had 45.00% of his shots under a 40...Ted had 41.18% of his shots under a 40...5 out of 7 shooters with over 40% of their shots under 40...not very good at all...and the following shooters had at least 1 game average under a 40...Ed (19.33), Andy (26.67), Bill (26.67), Jr (28.75), Ted (34.00) and Johnny (38.00)....yuck...not very good...

We had 2 under 9's this week...Jr and Bill both had a 7...you know my feelings about under 9's...ughghghgh...

we had 14 missed ins this week...Ed had 4 missed ins...Jeff had 3 missed ins...Johnny and Jr had 2 missed ins....and Andy, Ted and Bill had 1 missed in each...

for the 2nd week in a row we had 21 missed outs...8 of them were in one game that we eventually lost...Andy led the way with 5 missed outs...Johnny and Ted each had 4 missed outs...Ed and Jr each had 3 missed outs...Jeff had 2 missed outs...Bill didn't even get a shot at an out...

Ed posts the lowest cricket average of the night with a 1.33...Ted (1.78) and Bill (1.83) round out the under 2.0 club ...on the bright side Andy didn't go 3 weeks in a row under a 1.00 average...oh wait that's right we benched his ass for his lackluster performances...

Ed had 2 0-mark cricket rounds...Ted had 1 0-mark cricket round...

Jr only had a 28.57% win rate...Ed and Ted only had a 33.33% win rate...

THE HIGH LIGHTS

for the 2nd week in a row we finished under our goal of a 50 team average...this week we only averaged 49.61 as a team...Jeff led the way with week with a 65.72 average...Ted (54.53) and Johnny (51.31) all had nice averages over 50...

let's look "over the covers" again this week...i think it's important to recognize the people that average over a 40 every game...and those shooters that shoot better than 70% of their shots over a 40.....Jeff's was the only shooter with over a 40 average every game...Jeff's lowest average was 53.33...Jeff (90.91% or 2 shots) and Johnny (77.27% or 5 shots) were the shooters to have over 70% of their shots over a 40...

this week we only had 5 team tons...Jeff and Ted had 2 tons each...Bill had 1 ton...Ed, Johnny, Jr and Andy weren't "in the mood" to have any scores in the triple digits...

Ted had the high score of the night with a 140...Jeff had a 125...

Jr led the way with 3 double ins (3 @ 60.00%)...Jeff (2 @ 40.00%), Andy and Ted ( 1 @ 50.00%) and Johnny (1 @ 33.00%)...Ed went 0 for 4...Bill went 0 for 1...

Jeff led the way with 3 double outs (60.00%)...Ed, Johnny and Andy each had 1 double out...

Jeff led the way with a 3.50 cricket average...Johnny hit a very nice 3.00 average...and Jr hit a 2.57 average to round out the over 2.0 club...

Jr led the way with 5 @ 71.43% >= 3-mark rounds...Johnny (2@ 66.67%), Jeff (2 @ 50.00%), Bill (2 @ 33.33%) and Ted (2 @ 22.22%)...Ed had 1 >= 3-mark round...

Jeff and Johnny led the way with a 85.71% win rate...Andy had a 80.00% win rate...Ted just makes it in with a 50.00% win rate...

CONCLUSION

another week we probably should have had double digit wins...luckily we pull a sweep in cricket to make it 9-6...we are still way too inconsistent...we can't have people shooting under 45 and expect to be competitive...double digit missed ins and outs will continue to haunt us...but somehow our bend don't break methodology keeps us winning...next week we play Bog Side at home...they came from Division 3 last half...also no more trips to Manyunk this year...CJ & Ecks moved to Cannonballs...
