Darts 2007 - 2nd Half - Week 6 - Cannonballs (away)

SUMMARY

a very good week filled with ups and downs....but the end result is we won 11-4...we had the double outs spread out across all players (except yours truly who f'n blew at the outs last night)...but the good point is that everyone else got involved and didn't rely on me...see those outs aren't too hard to hit are they??? great job hitting them....on the other hand we had 9 under 9's....not very good...thankfully it didn't hurt us too bad...a much better pace to the games last night...we started out 3-1 in 801.....then we went 6-2 in 501...and we went 2-1 in cricket ...much better than the lackluster performances of the past couple weeks...this should keep us in 1st place...great job...

THE LOW LIGHTS

"dolla bills" were flying again....it seemed liked 20 was the number of the night....we had 20 in fines...we had a bunch of under 20's shot (15)....holy f'n crap....you gotta be kidding me....15 fines for shooting under a 20??? how many times do I have to say that to get over a 20 you only need to hit ONE of your intended target....and we rounded out the night with 5 C-Rules....try hitting the f'n board...it's big enough....we have a new leader in the club house this week...Ed claims the prestigious "Skippy Award" with 6 in fines...5 under 20's and 1 C-rule....not very good there ex-capt....fortunately your streaks run hot or cold...because you actually shot well when you weren't sucking...ha....Teddy followed closely behind with 5 in fines...3 under 20's and 2 C-rules....keep your f'n darts on the board....oh yeah and we can't forget the "2 and $2" round now can we....Johnny and Jr each owed 3 in fines for 3 under 20's each...Jeff owed 2 in fines....and what a way to get them....I actually got an under 9 and a C-rule in the same night....guess the vacation made me a little streaky huh??? Andy rounded out the night with 1 in fines for a C-rule....guys that's a lot of low shots and shots that didn't even score....concentrate on the fat part....

we had 2 shooters (the boobie twins) under a 45 average this week....Andy didn't exactly light the scores on fire last night....he shot a very Skippy-like 39.88....and his partner in crime Jr wasn't much better with a 40.81 average...thank goodness you both hit 2 outs each.....

so my new favorite stat...the "under the covers" stat....if we look under the covers once again we see that everyone (except Jeff) had at least 1 game average under a 40....and this week we had an embarrassing 4 players with at least 1 game in the 20's....that's f'n horrible....Ed (20.33); Johnny (26.00); Jr (28.20), Andy (27.00), and Ted (34.14)...We gotta start focusing on averaging over a 40 each game at a minimum...also if we look even closer we can see that 40.41% of our shots were under a 40...about 4% worse than last week and 9% worse than 2 weeks ago....not moving in the right direction guys....I think we have to strive for that percentage to be closer to 20-25%....let's see how that breaks down by player...now remember a higher percentage is BAD!!!!....Andy (63.64%), Jr (45.83%), Johnny (38.46%), Ed (34.62%), Ted (33.33%) and Jeff (26.09%)...let's work to get these under 25%.....or at a minimum under 33%...looking at the details we see that Andy is wayyyyyyy toooooo high....Jr is too high.....Johnny is borderline.....Ed and Ted are within my tolerance....good recovery from your horrible start Ed....and Ted nice job having back to back weeks at 33.33%....Jeff is well within the total tolerance...but I went from 3 under 40's the past 2 weeks to 6 this week...so not that great on a personal level....

Well we went from 0 under 9's last week to 9 under 9's this week....talk about crapping the bed....Ed led the field with 3 under 9's...he had 2 (6,7) in his first game....and hit a 5 in his last game of the night....not very good there Edward...keep those under 9's under control....Jr banged out 2 under 9's (7,7) which both came during the same game....John (7), Jeff (7) and Ted (2) each had one under 9....oh wait let me say it again...Ted had a "2 and $2" shot...ughghghghghghgh.....and the guy with the horrendous 39.88 average (Andy) didn't shoot any under 9's....hmmmmmm.....

Very awesome job on the ins...only 2 missed ins this week....Jeff and Ed each had 1 missed in....

Very inconsistent on the out shots this week....I "sucky suckied" the worst at outs this week with 6 missed outs and the only player on the team without an out....damn vacation!!!....haha....Andy missed 4 out shots....Johnny missed 3 out shots....Ed missed 1 out shot...Jr was a perfect 2 for 2 and Ted was a perfect 1 for 1....great job Jr and Ted on the outs....

We had 3 shooters under a 2.0 average last night...Ted (1.67), Ed (1.43), and Jr (1.83) had our under 2.0 scores...that's 2 weeks in a row for Ted and Ed shooting under a 2.0...Ed normally you're solid at cricket...get your head out of your asssssssss........

Everyone finished the night over a 50% win rate....great job....

THE HIGH LIGHTS

We fell just short of a 50.00 team average for the 2nd week in a row....we had a 48.81 team average....Jeff led the way with a 61.97 average....Teddy came to play last night and had a very nice 52.15....Ed after his pathetic 4 in fines first game rebounded nicely finishing the night with a 51.55 average....Johnny rounded the over 45 club with a 46.50 average....we still need to be thinking about hitting 50 averages....

we only had 7 tons again this week...Jeff and Ed each had 2 tons...Johnny, Andy and Ted each had 1 ton...Jr was the only player without a ton last night...

Jeff and Ed led the way with 3 double ins each...Johnny and Jr each had 1 in shot....Andy and Ted didn't even get a shot at the ins....that's a great job on the in shots this week...see what happens when you only miss 2 in shots....looks like that translated to a 6-2 record in 501....very nice job....don't let up...let's do this or better every week and we'll be unstoppable....

Johnny killed the outs last night with the team high of 3 double outs....Jr (who was a perfect 2 for 2) and Andy each had 2 double outs...Ted (who was a perfect 1 for 1) and Ed each had 1 double out....and Jeff sucked with 0 outs....ughghghgh I hate missing out shots....Johnny and Andy great job picking up my slacking arse this week....still had a bunch of missed outs though...only a 39.13% double out rate....a far cry from out 53.85% out rate from last week....luckily they didn't get in many games and we had the luxury of missing some outs....against better competition we can't miss that many outs....

As a team we shot a very nice 2.09 cricket average....and this week that translated into a 2-1 record...Jeff led the way with a very impressive 3.40 average....I guess the 4 >=3-mark rounds and the 6 mark round helped the cause....It's been a while since I banged out over a 3.0 average...it almost makes up for sucking on the out shots...Johnny (2.20) and Andy (2.00) had the other over 2.0 averages...

Jeff, John and Andy led the night with a 85.71% win rate....Jr had a 71.43% win rate....and Ted and Ed had a 57.14% win rate...wins are the key...great job....

CONCLUSION

Very nice week when we look at our 11-4 record....but still a lot of holes need to be filled....we had 15 fines for under 20's and 5 for C-rules....that's not acceptable...we need to hit better scores and keep the darts on the board...the first game of the night alone netted $6 in fines...and yes according to the ex-capt that first game was "Ed's bad"....Ed did a nice job after the first game and finished the night with a respectable 51.55 average....Ed you need to stop being so streaky....in that first game you had 4 in fines and 2 under 9's....then in another game you hit a ton and then a 75 out....keep focused from the beginning and you would have had a killer night...

Great job spreading the outs around last night...everybody except me contributed....but we still had 14 missed outs....almost half were mine and that's not normal....but on the bright side we have a very nice race for the outs this half....Jeff (9), Johnny (8), Andy (8) and Jr (7)....this will be fun to watch this unfold...I gave you guys one sucky week....don't expect for me to make it easier any more....GAME ON!!!!.....

Next week we play Curran's at home....come ready to play....let's keep up our winning ways well into the playoffs....have a great week....
